Worship
Worship at EBUMC
Sundays at 11am – Sanctuary and Online
Our worship services are grounded in our Methodist tradition and mix modern and classic elements of liturgy and music. We'll sing together, say some prayers, and hear the Word of God. Our pastor's sermons are normally based on a passage from the Revised Common Lectionary, a multi-denominational cycle of scripture readings that align with the rhythms of the church calendar.
Children are always welcome in our worship services. After the children's moment, kids are welcome to return to their pews or head to Sunday School, where our Christian Ed Director will guide them through a brief lesson and some activities related to the day's theme.
We hope you find in us a welcoming community where you can hear the promise of God's love and grace for you and for all of us.

COVID Protocols
We are not currently requiring masks or proof of vaccination to attend in-person worship. We do, however, strongly encourage everyone to stay up-to-date with their vaccines unless they have an allergy that prevents it. We also encourage you to remember that wearing a mask helps to protect your fellow worshippers if you are ill and do not know it yet.
Please do not come to in-person worship or to the office if you have any cold, flu, or COVID-like symptoms. Please do give us a call if you need anything, though!
All Are Welcome—Join Us!
-
Come as you are: We invite you to be comfortable and dress however you wish.
-
All Means All: While East Bloomfield is not currently affiliated with the Reconciling Ministries Network, our pastor is, and we as a congregation have voted to explicitly state that all people are welcome here, regardless of gender or sexuality (or any other identity marker, for that matter).
-
Bring Your Family: Kids are always welcome in worship, no matter how fidgety. :) Please also feel free to slip out and return as needed if, for example, you are nursing an infant. You'll find accessible bathrooms downstairs in the Fellowship Hall.
-
Getting Around: There is a ramp behind the bushes, between the office door and the front of the sanctuary. You'll find our lift in that entrance, and it will take you directly upstairs to the sanctuary.
-
Sight & Sound: We offer large-print hymnals, and devices for hearing-impaired attendees.
-
Open Table: You don’t have to be a member of this church or any church to receive Holy Communion. Elements free of gluten and other major allergens are always available. If you have a rarer allergy, let us know and we’ll make sure there are elements safe for you.
-
Building Community: We invite you to share coffee and conversation at coffee hour following worship. Kid-friendly juices and snacks are available.
-
If there are other ways we may serve you, please let our greeters, ushers, or Rev. Rachel know.
